USP of the role: You design and embed a risk-based Vulnerability Management framework in a complex enterprise environment, with Qualys VMDR as the strategic core platform.

🎯 YOUR ROLE

As a Security Engineer (Qualys VMDR), you are responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of the organization’s vulnerability management landscape.

You combine strong technical expertise with security governance insight, ensuring vulnerabilities are not only detected but structurally assessed, prioritized, remediated, and reported in line with a risk-based approach.

You operate at the intersection of Security, IT Operations, and Management, playing a key role in embedding VMDR processes into day-to-day operations.

📌 WHAT YOU DO

Qualys VMDR Implementation & Configuration

• Deploy and configure Qualys VMDR across multiple environments
• Roll out agents and sensors
• Optimize vulnerability scans and re-scans

Operational Runbook & Procedures

• Create and maintain a technical runbook for VMDR
• Develop procedures for scanning, validation, and remediation follow-up
• Define escalation and tracking processes

Vulnerability Management & Reporting

• Interpret and validate vulnerability findings
• Configure dashboards and tailored reporting per stakeholder group
• Align reporting with environments and asset groups

Access & Governance

• Implement and manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Align access rights with security, IT operations, management, and external partners
• Document final configurations and governance agreements

Training & Handover

• Deliver training and knowledge transfer to operational teams
• Supervise handover to operational management
• Support during the initial run phase

🫵 YOU

• Experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or infrastructure security
• Proven hands-on experience with Qualys VMDR (implementation and operational use)
• Experience within complex IT environments (enterprise, hybrid, cloud)

Practical knowledge of:

• Windows and Linux operating systems
• Networking and firewalling
• Cloud platforms

Nice to have:

• Experience in regulated environments (ISO 27001, NIS2, SOC2, …)
• Familiarity with enterprise security governance structures
• Experience working cross-functionally with IT and security teams
