Artificial Intelligence Engineer (1-year traineeship programme)

This project is with Rolo Robotics, a startup supported by SGInnovate under the PowerX Programme.

PowerX is a 12-months traineeship programme designed to enable and create Deep Tech career opportunities for working professionals, combing bespoke training and industry experience.

Rolo Robotics is a small development team in charge of development and deployment of production-ready machines for F&B automation. As a team member, you will work on the “intelligence layer” of the machine which includes operational and control intelligence as well as multimodal scene perception.

Initial Responsibilities:

• Understand current workflows, operations and use-cases.
• Learn current software and control architecture, helping with minor behavioural features.
• Digest and give feedback on intended future architecture and pipeline.
• Propose implementation plan and timeline.
• Work with your mentor to iterate through the initial plan.

Main Responsibilities:

• Continuously work with your mentor and other team members to develop intelligence modules.
• Integrate intelligence modules to the rest of the system.
• Adhere to CI/CD as well as coding best practices.
• Run tests, data collection and verification.
• Take ownership of your work, suggest improvements and alternatives

Desired Skills and Experiences:

• Some knowledge on AI/ML as well as computer vision technologies.
• Understands software engineering practices (Python and/or C++, Git, CI/CD, clean code).
• Some experience with embedded software and/or linux machine code deployment.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, able to take ownership and work across disciplines.
• Startup or cross-functional experience in small, fast-moving teams.
• Genuine interest in the intersection of robotics and F&B, and how automation can solve real operational challenges
