Overview

We are looking for an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines on AWS. You will work closely with analytics, data science, and business teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with large datasets and modern cloud-based data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise end-to-end data pipelines on AWS
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using AWS Glue and PySpark
• Ingest, transform, and store data in Amazon S3
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable Python / PySpark code
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance of data pipelines
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Monitor, maintain, and improve existing data workflows
• Apply best practices for security, cost optimisation, and performance

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer working with AWS
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS S3, AWS Glue, and PySpark
• Solid Python development skills
• Experience building scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
• Understanding of data modelling and performance optimisation techniques
• Experience working with structured and semi-structured data formats (e.g. Parquet, JSON)
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS Athena, Redshift, or EMR
• Knowledge of orchestration tools (Airflow, AWS Step Functions)
• Exposure to streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis)
• Experience in agile delivery environments
