Job Purpose


The Associate – QHSE plays a key role in implementing, monitoring, and enhancing the organization’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) management systems. This role ensures compliance with operational safety, food safety, and environmental standards across all facilities and new assets. It also supports design reviews for new developments to integrate QHSE requirements from planning through to operational readiness.


Roles, Responsibilities & Duties


QHSE System Development & Implementation

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE policies, procedures, and management systems aligned with international standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and internal audits to identify hazards, non-conformities, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant QHSE laws, regulations, and standards.


Operational Safety & On-Ground Compliance

  • Conduct daily and periodic site inspections to verify adherence to QHSE regulations across all operational sites.
  • Provide on-site support to operational teams on safety compliance and best practices.
  • Oversee sanitization and housekeeping activities to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports; and ensure corrective and preventive actions.


Design Review & New Projects

  • Participate in design reviews for new assets and facilities to ensure QHSE integration from the early planning stage.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and plans for safety, environmental, and operational compliance.


Training & Awareness

  • Plan and deliver training sessions on food safety, health & safety, emergency preparedness, and hygiene practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through continuous awareness and staff engagement.


Audit, Reporting & Documentation

  • Support internal and external QHSE audits, ensuring timely closure of audit findings.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inspections, incidents, and audits with clear improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain documentation, records, and performance data to support compliance and reporting.


Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, consultants, contractors, and service providers on QHSE matters.
  • Work with Facilities, Operations, and Business Excellence teams to resolve non-conformities and improve QHSE performance.
  • Support ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and sustainability initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Food Technology/Food Science, or a related field.


Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a QHSE role (preferably in facilities management, hospitality, or catering).
  • Strong knowledge of QHSE regulations, standards, and municipal requirements.
  • Experience in risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
  • HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety for Catering certification required.
  • NEBOSH IGC or IOSH Managing Safely certification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of UAE/GCC food safety, hygiene, and HSE regulations.
  • UAE/GCC driving license required.
  • Strong skills in risk assessment, auditing, incident reporting, and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
