Job Title: Senior PHP & Laravel Developer

Rate: 65-70/hr W2

Does not support C2C

Conversion salary: 130k

Duration: 6 month+ extensions/possible hire

Location: 100% remote — preferable if in or near Chicago

Our client is seeking a Senior Application Developer to design, build, and support enterprise web applications using PHP and Laravel. This role focuses on modern development practices, collaboration, and delivering scalable, high-quality solutions.

Must have skill set:

• 5+ years of PHP and Laravel software development experience
• Strong experience with PHP, Laravel, and CMS platforms (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Umbraco)
• Strong Bootstrap and CSS
• Frontend experience (React, Angular, jQuery, Bootstrap, CSS)
• Database expertise (SQL Server, MySQL)
• Experience with Azure DevOps and agile development
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

Nice to Have

• Cloud experience (Azure and/or AWS)
• Microservices, SOA, or DDD experience
• Insurance industry experience

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications, APIs, background jobs, and CMS websites
• Lead full-cycle development: design, coding, testing, deployment, and documentation
• Apply MVC and Clean Architecture principles to create scalable solutions
• Review code and mentor junior developers
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Support production deployments, upgrades, and system enhancements
• Ensure compliance with IT governance standards (SOX, SOC 2)
