All Things Rugby (ATR) is building the next-generation platform for rugby fans, analysts, and organizations. We’re hiring a Data Operations Specialist to manage data entry, editing, and matchday data comparison & validation through our admin panel. You’ll ensure match information is accurate, consistent, and updated on time especially during live match days so our users always see trusted, high-quality data.
Responsibilities
- Admin panel data entry & editing: Create, update, and maintain fixtures, results, teams, players, competitions, venues, and match metadata.
- Matchday live operations: Monitor ongoing matches and update key details promptly (scores, match time/status, events, cards, substitutions, etc.) according to the workflow.
- Comparison & validation: Cross-check match information against approved sources/internal records, identify discrepancies, and correct/validate before publishing.
- Data quality control: Spot and fix missing fields, duplicates, incorrect naming, formatting issues, and inconsistent records to keep the database clean.
- Post-update verification: Confirm updates reflect correctly on the platform (basic checks on web/mobile views where required).
- Issue logging & escalation: Report admin panel bugs or data anomalies with clear context (match ID, screenshots, steps to reproduce, expected vs actual).
- Process improvement: Proactively suggest improvements to checklists/SOPs, identify recurring data issues, and help strengthen operational quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, or Business Administration with a data focus.
- Experience in data operations, data entry, content operations, CMS administration, or QA/data validation.
- Familiarity with sports match structures (fixtures/results/lineups/events) — rugby knowledge is a plus.
- Experience working evenings/weekends on rotating schedules.
- Proactive and ownership-driven: You don’t wait to be told— you spot issues early, raise them, and follow through until resolved.
- High attention to detail: Strong accuracy in repetitive tasks and ability to catch inconsistencies quickly.
- Calm under pressure: Able to work fast and accurately during match windows and high-volume periods.
- Strong organization: Able to manage multiple matches/tasks, prioritize correctly, and keep clean records.
- Problem-solving mindset: Can investigate mismatches, validate sources, and make informed corrections.
- Clear communication: Confident in escalating issues and coordinating with the tech/ops team.
- Comfortable using admin panels/CMS tools and basic Excel/Google Sheets.
Work Schedule & Expectations
- Full-time role with availability during match windows, which may include evenings and weekends depending on the fixture calendar.
- Reliability and consistency are critical during live match operations.
What Success Looks Like
- High accuracy of published match data with minimal post-publish corrections.
- Timely matchday updates within defined SLAs/workflows.
- Proactive issue spotting and clear reporting that improves overall data quality and system reliability.
- Consistent adherence to validation checklists and data standards.
