We’re now looking for a Junior or Mid-level Backend Developer (Platform Applications) to join our team in Oulu.

In this role, you’ll work as part of the Platform Applications team, contributing to foundational cloud services and internal tooling that other F-Secure teams rely on. You’ll handle concrete development and support tasks, gradually taking on more responsibility as your experience grows. The role combines hands-on backend development with collaboration within the team, offering a clear learning path into production systems, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps best practices.

The Platform Applications team builds and maintains core cloud services that form an essential part of F-Secure’s infrastructure. The team supports other F-Secure teams by maintaining shared services and tooling that help backend development and operations. You’ll work with production systems, cloud-based services, and shared platform components, gaining practical experience in how such systems are developed and maintained over time.

Your Day-to-day May Include

• Work on backend development tasks based on Jira tickets and team priorities
• Contribute to building and maintaining foundational cloud services used across F-Secure
• Support existing services in production, with guidance and mentoring from the team
• Communicate actively with team members to avoid blockers and keep work moving
• Learn and apply best practices in cloud development, DevSecOps, and CI/CD
• Gradually take on more responsibility and expand your scope as your experience grows
  
  

What are we looking for?

• Junior to mid-level experience in software development
• Basic skills in Python and scripting (e.g. Bash)
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud concepts
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Curiosity, willingness to learn, and a team-oriented mindset

• Experience with containers or container-based development
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or automated testing
