Senior Front End Engineer

📍 Location: Remote-first (London office optional)

💰 Salary: £60-70k

⏳ Type: Full-time, 4-day work week (we work 4, pay 5)

I’m working with an exciting client who is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their mission-driven team transforming frontline public services with AI. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that helps teams delivering citizen services, from employability and housing to well being and justice, reduce admin, improve compliance, and spend more time on meaningful human work.

What You’ll Do

• Build and ship features across the AI-native platform
• Collaborate closely with the CTO, design, and product teams to deliver tools used by real frontline workers
• Write clear, maintainable, tested, and secure code that scales
• Make effective use of techniques like caching, multipart file uploads, and async updates to ensure a smooth and responsive UX
• Help shape the architecture as the platform scales from early deployments to nationwide adoption

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience
• Proven track record building excellent UI for enterprise-grade applications
• Frontend: React / TypeScript
• Strong judgment for simplicity; you know when to refactor and when to ship
• Collaborative mindset and experience working in cross-functional teams
• Experience or curiosity with LLMs or AI systems (professional or personal projects)
• Interest in building tech that actually improves lives
