The Opportunity
The Data and AI Governance Analyst will support the implementation and ongoing management of EirGrid’s data and AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards. The role will work closely with the Data Governance Lead, Data Architect, Data Owners, Data Steward and Data Platform team to embed governance practices, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement in data quality and AI risk management. The Analyst will also provide operational support to the Data and AI Governance Forum and help maintain the EirGrid’s AI Inventory.
The successful candidate will support the continuous improvement of governance processes and contribute to a culture of responsible data and AI use across EirGrid.

The Opportunity
The Data and AI Governance Analyst will support the implementation and ongoing management of EirGrid’s data and AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards. Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, refinement and implementation of data and AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards across EirGrid.
- Assist in the coordination and facilitation of the Data and AI Governance Forum, including preparing agendas and materials, ensuring decisions and logged and all actions are followed up.
- Collaborate with Data Owners and Data Stewards across EirGrid to promote data and AI management best practices.
- Monitor and report on data quality issues and remediation progress, escalating as required.
- Contribute to the development and rollout of data quality standards and adoption requirements.
- Maintain and update the AI Inventory to ensure compliance with the EU AI Act and internal policy, including tracking approvals, risk assessments, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with our AI Lab, Data Integration, End User Tools and Data Platform teams by supporting the intake, triage, and tracking of data and AI use cases.
- Assist with compliance activities, including supporting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), policy reviews, and audit preparation.
- Help develop/maintain governance documentation, including policies, procedures, training materials, and forum records.
- Provide operational support for the rollout of new governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview) and processes.
- Engage with stakeholders across the business to raise awareness and adoption of data and AI governance practices.
- Stay abreast of any changes in Data and AI governance best practice and assess their relevance to EirGrid.
- Gather feedback on governance processes and forums, measure satisfaction and seek to adopt a continuous improvement mindset.
- 5+ years’ experience in data governance, data management, or a related field energy/utilities sector experience desirable).
- Relevant qualification in IT, computer science, digital transformation, or related field.
- Familiarity with data and AI governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, EU AI Act).
- Experience using Data Governance tools such as Microsoft Purview
- Understanding of data and AI risk management, including AI inventory and risk assessment processes.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
- Experience in supporting cross-functional forums or working groups.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Forms, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines in a dynamic environment.
