Join our team! We are looking for a Database Administrator in Riga HQ office!

About the role:

Our Database Administrators are responsible for a wide scope of IT system management tasks related to data processing, including database cluster/server management, BI environment management, and data obfuscation. The Database Administrator works closely with Developers, Business Analysts, IT management, and other Group functions to understand the company’s data needs, maintain data integrity, assist DBAs in managing data, ensure compliance with the company’s data retention policy, and build and maintain a reliable and resilient IT infrastructure.

Required experience:

Technical skills:

• Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Experience in managing PostgreSQL environments, including the use of standard and advanced enterprise solutions
• Entry- to intermediate-level experience with AWS cloud database technologies
• Knowledge and experience in networking architecture and Linux servers
• Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
• Strong English language skills
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database architecture

• Ability to organize your time and tasks effectively
• Sense of responsibility for your work
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to break down high-level data concepts into understandable details and communicate/discuss these details with appropriate parties (including, but not limited to, Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, and select non-IT data users)

Responsibilities:

• Install, upgrade, and manage database servers
• Develop processes to optimize database security and manage database access
• Define and maintain database standards
• Create new databases
• Assist with schema design, code reviews, and SQL query tuning
• Maintain and monitor database servers
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve production issues and data problems
• Provide operational support (tickets, ad-hoc user requests)
• Automate recurring database tasks
• Collaborate with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
• Be available for on-call support as needed
• Ensure databases are consistent, stable, backed up, and recoverable
• Set up and configure logical replication and related custom solutions
• Develop technical documentation and manuals
• Generate, modify, and version database object scripts (DML/DDL)
