Front-End Engineer – Rotterdam – ALTEN Netherlands

The Position

As part of our expanding team, we are looking for a talented Front-End Engineer to join us in Rotterdam and contribute to impactful, high-tech client projects across a variety of industries.

As a Front-End Engineer, your main tasks will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining modern, responsive web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Translating UI/UX designs and technical specifications into clean, efficient, and scalable front-end code
• Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex front-end performance and compatibility issues
• Ensuring code quality through testing, code reviews, and adherence to best engineering practices
• Collaborating closely with back-end developers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver seamless end-to-end user experiences
• (Optional but valued) Contributing to front-end architecture decisions and performance optimization initiatives

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• 3+ years of professional experience in front-end development (Medior to Senior level)
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
• Solid understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and web performance optimization
• Familiarity with REST APIs and integration with back-end services
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients
• Proactive mindset with eagerness to learn, improve, and explore new technologies
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
