Junior Developer in Software Product Development, Summer Job

We are looking for a summer trainee to join our Sport Games Platform (SGP) team to develop parimutuel betting. The internship is full-time and the exact timing will be arranged with the selected candidate, for example, between May 15 and August 15, 2026.

Your Assignments Could Be Something Like This

• Assist in the development and maintenance of software products
• Support the team in various tasks related to software development
• AI agent assisted software development
  
  

Example languages and technologies you could work with: Kotlin, Java, SQL-databases, NoSQL-databases, Terraform, CI/CD, GCP (or other cloud platforms), Spring Boot, React, NodeJS, TypeScript.

We are primarily seeking candidates with a university educational background. However, applicants with lower formal education levels are also welcome to apply, provided they demonstrate a strong passion for programming through personal projects or other relevant experience.

Required Skills

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science or a related field
• Programming
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles
• Good communication skills in English
• Good teamworking skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Good grades in software engineering and other relevant courses

The position is located at Veikkaus' headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model. To foster collaboration and effective teamwork, we meet at the office three times a week.
