Head of Delivery (AI Projects)

Location: Dublin (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

This is a senior delivery leadership role within a high-end AI and Data organisation delivering complex, real-world AI programmes for large, data-rich organisations across Europe.

This is not a product role and not a senior project manager position.

We are looking for someone who has already built and scaled delivery teams in a similar environment, who is comfortable operating in ambiguity, delegating through project managers, and acting as the senior delivery authority with demanding external clients.

You will own the delivery operating model, not inherit a rigid one.

• Owning end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent AI and GenAI programmes across external clients.

• Leading and scaling a 30+ person delivery organisation, delegating execution through project managers and delivery leads.

• Acting as the senior escalation point for delivery risk, client confidence, and programme health.

• Designing and running delivery cadence, governance, PMO processes, templates, and reporting.

• Sitting between pre-sales, delivery, data science, engineering, and clients, ensuring alignment and commercial discipline.

• Managing utilisation, margins, prioritisation, and delivery forecasting.

• Leading complex AI programmes where data quality is uncertain, requirements evolve, and experimentation is required.

• Being credible and confident in AI conversations with customers, including GenAI, agents, and modern AI delivery challenges.

• Building a delivery culture that is high standard, calm under pressure, and commercially aware.
  
  

This role has some non-negotiables based on the nature of the work:

• Proven experience running a delivery organisation of c.30+ people, with delegation through project managers (not hands-on execution).

• Background in consulting, professional services, or client-facing delivery environments.

• Experience delivering to external customers across two or more organisations (not internal-only delivery).

• Strong understanding of AI delivery realities - experimentation, data uncertainty, client education, iteration.

• Comfortable owning delivery decisions and bringing an opinionated operating model rather than needing instruction.

• Calm, authoritative presence with senior enterprise stakeholders.

• Able to balance technical understanding with commercial accountability.
  
  

To be clear, this role is not a fit for profiles that are:

• Primarily product managers or product-led AI leaders.

• Internal delivery leaders who have only worked within a single organisation.

• Strong individual contributors with limited experience delegating delivery.

• Project managers who have not operated at organisational delivery scale.
  
  

• You will have real ownership over how delivery is run.

• You'll work on live, complex AI programmes rather than proofs of concept.

• You'll operate in an environment where delivery leadership is seen as a strategic function, not a support role.

• You'll have autonomy to shape processes, teams, and standards as the business continues to scale.
