Senior Java Software Engineer

The Position

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our teams and work on client projects in Huizen.

As a Senior Java Developer, you are responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, testing, and delivering high-quality software functionality. You will work on robust communication platforms deployed in military tracked vehicles, ensuring reliability, performance, and security in demanding operational environments.

As a Senior Java Engineer, you will:

• Design and develop innovative software solutions using Java v17
• Implement and integrate functionality within complex communication systems
• Translate functional and technical requirements into robust software designs
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system validation
• Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, and test engineers
• Contribute to software architecture and technical decision-making
• Ensure high standards in code quality, security, and performance
• Support continuous improvement of development processes

Your profile

• Fluency in Dutch and English
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
• 4-5 years of professional Java development experience
• Strong experience with Java 17
• Experience with system integration in complex technical environments
• Familiar with software design principles and architectural patterns
• Experience with testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of secure and high-availability systems is a strong plus
• Experience in defense, embedded, or mission-critical environments is an advantage
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive mindset
