Your role

How do you design digital products that transform complex systems into simple and intuitive user experiences?

As a research and development engineer at Atlas Copco Group, you contribute to the development of innovative technologies and digital solutions that support future product and customer needs. Your main focus is to design and improve digital product concepts by translating complex technical and operational requirements into user-friendly and scalable solutions.

In this role, you participate in research, design, and development activities that drive product performance, quality, and sustainability. You collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that development projects meet functional, technical, cost, and timing objectives.

You design digital solutions by developing user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interfaces that support intuitive customer journeys. Using modern design tools and structured design thinking, you help create consistent and scalable design systems that improve product usability across platforms.

You stay informed about industry and technology trends and translate new insights into practical opportunities for the business and customers.

To succeed, you will need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Digital Product Design, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience designing digital products, including user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interfaces
  • Strong ability to translate complex processes into intuitive user journeys, supported by a portfolio demonstrating design thinking and problem solving
  • Experience with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of React or web development is considered an advantage

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Airpower facility in Wilrijk, Belgium.
