American University of Sharjah (AUS) in the United Arab Emirates invites applications for a full-time, rolling-track faculty position in environmental sciences and sustainability, starting Fall 2026. The successful candidate is expected to teach general environmental sciences and environmental sustainability courses, as well as advanced courses aligned with their area of expertise. Teaching responsibilities include both undergraduate courses and graduate courses in the Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability and Management (MSc-ENS) program.

We welcome applicants who are passionate about teaching and research, and who can contribute to the continued development of our new MSc-ENS program. Candidates should highlight any relevant experience in program development, curriculum design or interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Sustainability or a closely related field
• Established record of teaching, research and service, or a clear ability to establish such a record at AUS
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental sustainability and management, with emphasis on topics such as environmental informatics, environmental genomics, and environmental modelling
• Active research in any of the above areas.
  
  

About The Department

The Department of Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences offers bachelor of science degrees in biology, chemistry and biochemistry, and environmental sciences and sustainability, and minors in biology, environmental sciences, and environmental policy and sustainability. The department includes 17 full-time faculty members and 10 full-time laboratory staff who are actively engaged in research across these disciplines.
