About The Role
We’re looking for a Front-End Developer (Level 2) to join us on a 12 month maximum-term contract within our Product Development group. This early–mid career role is focused on designing, enhancing, and maintaining high quality, web based user interfaces for our ITS products.
You’ll work within an empowered, agile product team collaborating closely with your Product Manager, Engineering Lead, designer, and fellow developers using our product trio model to deliver elegant, user centred applications with real world community impact.
This is a hands-on development role ideal for someone who is technically capable, collaborative, curious, and passionate about creating meaningful digital products.
What You’ll Do
- Build intuitive, high performing web interfaces for the STREAMS product ecosystem.
- Work with product and design teams to translate concepts into scalable, market-ready solutions.
- Apply usability and design-thinking principles throughout the development process.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Produce technical and design documentation and support product rollouts and training alongside engineers and support teams.
- We’re seeking a technically skilled and team oriented developer who values quality, learning, and innovation.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn from senior developers in a supportive engineering environment.
- A tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Solid experience delivering front-end solutions using modern frameworks.
- Strong expertise in React and TypeScript (essential), supported by HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills.
- Exposure to back end technologies such as .NET, C#, or Python is beneficial but not required.
- Familiarity with modern automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Jest, SpecFlow).
- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines for automated build and deployment workflows.
- A strong appreciation for user experience, interface design, and clean, user centred product development.
- Familiar with public cloud infrastructure, and contemporary containerised and microservice-based architectures, services and technologies including AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Familiar with secure data networking principles, protocols, and application interface technologies such as REST, gRPC, JSON, XML and/or Protobuf.
