We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Back-End Development Intern to join our engineering team. This internship is unpaid, but it offers valuable real-world experience, close mentorship from experienced developers, and the opportunity to grow into a long-term role within the company.

What You’ll Work On

As a Back-End Development Intern, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of scalable backend systems. You’ll work closely with the engineering team on real features and services, gaining exposure to production-level architecture and workflows.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing RESTful APIs
  • Building backend services using Golang and the Echo framework
  • Working with PostgreSQL and managing queries using sqlc
  • Integrating third-party services such as Stripe
  • Implementing logging and observability using Zerolog and OpenTelemetry
  • Using Valkey for caching
  • Working with background processes and messaging via NATS (email-related use cases)
  • Developing and running services in Docker containers
  • Applying web application security best practices



Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design
  • Proficiency in Golang
  • Experience with the Echo framework
  • Solid SQL knowledge with PostgreSQL
  • Experience using sqlc for type-safe database access
  • Familiarity with logging and telemetry tools (Zerolog, OpenTelemetry)
  • Understanding of caching mechanisms (Valkey)
  • Basic experience with NATS
  • Experience integrating payment systems (e.g., Stripe)
  • Knowledge of Docker and containerized development
  • Awareness of backend security best practices



Nice to Have

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Knowledge of other message brokers
  • Experience with unit and integration testing in Go
  • Understanding of microservices architecture
