Android Software Engineer
- Location - Amsterdam (hybrid, 1-2 days/week onsite)
- Rate - €105 per hour (40 hours/week)
- Duration - 9 months initial (possible extensions)
We are working with a leading global digital platform to appoint an experienced Android Software Engineer for a 9-month contract based in Amsterdam.
This position offers the opportunity to take full ownership of Android development within a product-focused engineering team. You will play a key role in maintaining, enhancing and stabilising production applications in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
You will be the primary Android engineer in the team, responsible for system design, coding, troubleshooting and incident management. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical independence and production ownership.
You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and cross-functional stakeholders, contributing to architectural decisions and continuous quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Android applications aligned to business requirements
- Write high-quality, maintainable and testable code
- Perform system design and architectural evaluations
- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve production issues
- Own application performance monitoring and reliability improvements
- Contribute to continuous delivery and operational excellence
Requirements
- Strong Android development background
- Proven system design capability
- Experience with troubleshooting and debugging complex systems
- Production incident management experience
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder collaboration
- Ability to work independently with limited mentorship
