Network Engineer

£55,000 | 2–3 days per week onsite

We’re supporting a business mid-way through a major firewall and data centre transformation and are looking for a hands-on Network Engineer to join the infrastructure team.

This role sits within a multi-site enterprise environment and will focus heavily on Cisco security technologies, data centre deployments and firewall migrations.

The work is practical, project-led and highly visible across the business.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the migration of 35 Cisco ASA firewalls to Cisco Firepower
• Performing firewall upgrades and managing conversion paths
• Deploying Cisco Firepower into new data centres
• Installing and configuring firewalls and switches onsite
• Working with Cisco Nexus and Cisco Catalyst infrastructure
• Creating and managing VPN connections, including cloud connectivity
• Supporting data centre migrations and infrastructure refresh projects
• Configuring firewall rule bases via CLI
• Working within change management and ITIL processes

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Firepower
• Cisco ASA experience or solid understanding of migration from ASA to Firepower
• Experience with Cisco Nexus and Cisco Catalyst switching
• Strong routing and switching fundamentals
• Experience deploying firewalls in data centre environments
• VPN configuration experience
• Comfortable working onsite and in project environments

CCNA is required. CCNP or Cisco Security certifications are desirable.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys real infrastructure work rather than purely operational support.
