About the Role

Codertal is looking for an experienced Principal Android Developer to take technical ownership of large-scale, production-grade mobile applications for international clients. You’ll lead Android architecture and delivery, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with product, backend, and iOS teams to build robust, scalable solutions.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining deep technical expertise with strong decision-making and ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Android technical strategy, architecture, and best practices
• Drive architectural decisions for scalable, high-availability mobile apps
• Mentor and guide senior and mid-level Android engineers
• Ensure high code quality, performance, and maintainability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Backend, iOS)
• Own delivery of critical features and technical initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of Android development experience
• 3+ years in a technical leadership role
• Expert knowledge of Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose
• Strong experience with clean architecture, modularisation, and large codebases
• Proven experience building and scaling production apps on Google Play
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, testing strategies, and mobile DevOps
• Strong API integration experience (REST, GraphQL, security)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP)
• AWS & cloud-based mobile backends
• Experience in complex or regulated domains (finance, travel, e-commerce)
