Your work directly empowers network operations with real-time insights and tools to keep Tele2 running seamlessly.

We are on a journey to transform our monitoring landscape, evolving from COTS-heavy solutions towards an agile blend of smart COTS, innovative in-house services, and open-source technologies. Your mission is to dramatically enhance our capabilities, delivering crystal-clear situational awareness and pioneering automation to our stakeholders.

Who are you?

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer who is ready to make a significant impact. You are someone who does not just write great code but understands the bigger picture of system architecture and operational excellence. You will be instrumental part of our teams’ efforts to evolve our monitoring stack, transforming it into a modern, proactive platform for alarm handling, exceptional situational awareness, and robust automation for our Operations Center.

You are a natural communicator, effortlessly collaborating within the team and articulating complex ideas clearly to our stakeholders. As our team and stakeholders are multi-lingual, strong English communication skills are essential.

To truly thrive and succeed in this role, we believe you have:

  • A knack for navigating diverse system landscapes, with a solid background in both developing and operating solutions that blend commercial off-the-shelf products, custom-built services, and open-source components.
  • Strong hands-on programming skills, ideally in languages like Java and Python, allowing you to craft efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Experience building modern, resilient systems using microservices and event-driven architectures, including expertise in API design (e.g., REST, GraphQL), message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and Business Rule Management Systems (e.g. DROOLS).
  • Practical familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and experience with modern deployment and orchestration of applications in on-premises environments.

What Would Make You Shine (but is not essential):

  • A deep dive into the monitoring ecosystem: Hands-on experience with traditional monitoring tools within a Network and IT Operations context, as well as more modern tools like Prometheus, Grafana or the ELK stack.
  • Knowledge and experience of Golang.
  • Understanding of relevant network protocols like SNMP, NetFlow, or Syslog, enabling you to extract meaningful insights from vast data streams.
  • Experience with real-time event processing or stream analytics, and an understanding of how to reduce alert fatigue through intelligent correlation and automation.
  • Familiarity with data integration and migration strategies that help bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern solutions.
  • Experience with AIOps Solutions would be a significant asset to our team.

Beyond the Technical Bits:

We value engineers who are inherently curious, proactive problem-solvers, and adaptable to new challenges in a fast-paced environment. You are someone who takes ownership, constantly seeks to learn and improve, and enjoys sharing knowledge within a collaborative team setting. Your ability to think critically about system design and contribute to architectural discussions will be highly appreciated as we shape our future.
