Cloud Architecture Lead

Role Overview

Responsible for overseeing cloud environments that are secure, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with organisational strategy. This role provides technical direction across cloud platforms, drives automation initiatives, and partners with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain robust cloud solutions across public, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
• Partner with business leaders and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable cloud architectures.
• Manage and continuously enhance cloud infrastructure to improve performance, reliability, and cost optimisation.
• Implement automated provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Establish and uphold cloud security controls, governance frameworks, and compliance standards.
• Guide DevOps and engineering teams in integrating infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor cloud systems and implement proactive improvements to ensure stability and scalability.
• Collaborate across departments to reinforce security best practices and regulatory adherence.
• Lead cloud transformation and innovation initiatives.

Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, cloud architecture, or related roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in building and managing scalable cloud-based solutions.
• Strong working knowledge of major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud); experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud strategies preferred.
• Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies and tools.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity management, security architecture, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and/or serverless frameworks.
• Practical experience implementing DevOps methodologies and automated deployment pipelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
