Lead .NET Developer
3-Month Contract | £525 per day | Inside IR35 | Central Bristol (1–2 days per week onsite)
We are seeking an experienced Lead .NET Developer to join a growing engineering team delivering ongoing development and modernisation of a complex monolithic platform. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a senior developer who thrives in stabilising legacy systems while driving forward cloud-native transformation.
The team is currently migrating workloads to AWS and transitioning the frontend from AngularJS to StencilJS web components. You will play a key role in enhancing, modernising, and future-proofing the existing platform while supporting the development of new distributed services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality backend development using C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core.
- Lead efforts to decompose and migrate legacy monolithic components into AWS-based services.
- Contribute to a message-driven architecture leveraging RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, and AWS Lambda.
- Support platform enhancements, bug resolution, and development of new features across multiple modules.
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers during the transition from AngularJS to StencilJS.
- Work within a custom metadata-driven system powering dynamic data sources, business rules, and form generation.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with onshore (Bristol-based) and offshore engineering teams.
- Follow established CI/CD workflows using Bitbucket, Jenkins, AWS CLI abstractions, and Kubernetes.
- Champion best practices in unit testing, code quality, maintainability, and engineering standards.
Required Experience & Skills
- Extensive experience in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core development.
- Proven experience working with complex monolithic systems and driving modernisation initiatives.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture.
- Experience implementing message-based/distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployments.
- Experience working in Agile environments with distributed teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance short-term stability and long-term architectural improvements.

- Duration: 3 Months
- Rate: £525 per day
- IR35 Status: Inside IR35
- Location: Central Bristol (1–2 days per week onsite)
