Embedded Software Engineer - SoC Firmware - C/C++ / Linux / RTOS

We're partnered with a leading semiconductor organisation in Cork looking to expand their SoC Firmware team.

If you are an embedded software engineer who enjoys working close to hardware and building low level platform software, this could be a strong next step.

The Role

You will join a highly technical firmware team responsible for developing and integrating software for next generation SoC platforms. The work sits at the intersection of hardware and software, focusing on performance, stability and power optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for SoC platforms
• Work closely with hardware teams during bring up and validation
• Debug complex system level issues across firmware and drivers
• Contribute to design documentation, code reviews and architecture discussions
• Support integration, testing and optimisation of platform software

What We Are Looking For

• Strong C/C++ programming skills
• Experience developing embedded software on Linux or RTOS
• Solid debugging experience with tools such as GDB
• Understanding of multi threaded or multi processor systems
• Exposure to low level drivers, bootloaders or hardware interfaces is a plus

Nice to Have

• Python for scripting or automation
• Experience in telecoms, networking protocols or system software
• Familiarity with CI/CD environments and code quality tools
