Role : Accessibility Test Lead
Location : Toronto ON Canada - Day 1 Onsite
Job Description/ Responsibilities
• Plan & execute accessibility testing for web and mobile apps using manual and assistive technology methods (screen readers, keyboard-only, color contrast, zoom, voice control)
• Evaluate against WCAG (2.1/2.2 AA) success criteria, including perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust principles
• Validate ARIA usage (roles, states, properties) to ensure semantic correctness, name/role/value exposure, and compatibility with assistive tech
• Perform screen reader testing with NVDA (Windows), and where applicable with JAWS, VoiceOver (iOS/macOS), and TalkBack (Android)
• Assess mobile accessibility: focus order, touch target sizes, dynamic type, rotor actions, labels/hints, and platform-specific patterns
• Keyboard accessibility: ensure all interactive components are reachable, operable, and visually indicated; verify no keyboard traps
• Document issues clearly, write reproducible steps, affected components, WCAG mapping, severity, and recommended fixes
• Partner with teams to triage findings, retest fixes, and track progress to closure in tools like Jira/Azure DevOps
• Contribute to standards: create test cases, checklists, and guidance for common UI patterns (modals, menus, carousels, tables)
• Support shift-left: provide early design/development reviews, participate in design critiques, and advise on semantic HTML and ARIA best practices.
• Report & metrics: prepare accessibility test reports, dashboards, and compliance status for stakeholders
