We are looking for a Head of Risk freelance to step into a high-impact Number II position within a regulated fintech operating in the crypto and trading space.
This is not a maintenance role. This is a stabilization, structuring and transformation mandate in a high-pressure, high-visibility regulatory environment.
You will work directly with the CEO and top management, with strong exposure to Group executive level abroad.
Your Mission:
- Stabilize and strengthen the Risk & Internal Control framework
- Reinforce second line oversight, including IT & Information Security risk
- Ensure alignment with DORA requirements and broader EU regulatory expectations
- Structure governance, formalize processes (currently partially manual), and elevate reporting standards
- Act as a credible and confident counterpart to the CSSF
- Deliver high-level strategic reporting to international Group stakeholders
This role requires autonomy, ownership and the ability to operate without heavy infrastructure or large teams.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Risk Management framework (risk appetite, risk universe, KRIs, reporting)
- Operational, ICT, market, liquidity and reputational risks
- Internal control framework assessment and enhancement
- Second-line IT risk oversight (not a pure CISO role, but strong understanding of information security governance)
- DORA readiness and ICT governance reinforcement
- Senior management advisory and decision support
Profile:
We Are Looking For:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Risk Management within a regulated financial institution
- Strong exposure to fintech, trading or crypto environments, payment environment.
- Solid understanding of MiFID environments
- Strong grasp of DORA and ICT risk governance
- Fluent English mandatory
