Role Overview:
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance across the organization. This role involves working with multi-vendor network environments, supporting data center operations, and ensuring secure connectivity for internal and remote users.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, VLANs, and routing protocols across multi-site environments to ensure performance, availability, and security.
- Manage network authentication and access control systems using Cisco ACS and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Configure and maintain load balancing solutions (F5 LTM/GTM and Citrix NetScaler) to ensure redundancy and high availability of business-critical applications.
- Deploy and manage enterprise wireless networks and access points, supporting secure corporate and guest Wi-Fi environments.
- Administer and support VPN solutions including site-to-site, SSL, and remote access VPNs to provide secure internal and external connectivity.
- Manage web proxy and content filtering solutions to enhance cybersecurity controls and user access governance.
- Configure comprehensive network monitoring and alerting solutions, ensuring proper log ingestion to SIEM platforms; proactively investigate alerts, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring incidents.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, security appliances, and voice infrastructure to maintain operational stability and minimize downtime.
- Support and maintain VoIP infrastructure on the NICE platform, including configuration of extensions, hunt groups, auto-attendants, voicemail, SIP trunk integrations, Microsoft Teams calling, and voice quality troubleshooting.
- Design, deploy, optimize, and manage multi-vendor firewall environments (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Check Point), ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review firewall rules, ACLs, and network security policies to align with evolving business and infrastructure requirements.
- Collaborate with security, vulnerability management, and cross-functional teams to remediate risks, address security gaps, and support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansion initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7–12 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and network administration, network security.
- Solid, practical knowledge of Firewalls, VPN, UTM, Web Proxy, Routers, and Switches, and a track record of working with these in real enterprise environments, not just on paper.
- Relevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP Security, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, ITIL ) are highly desirable.
- Experience interfacing with cybersecurity and endpoint security.
- Experience in compliance with data privacy regulations and internal security policies.
Skills & Competencies:
- Hands-on multivendor network switches, routers, firewalls, WAF, LB products, NICE platforms.
- Data Center network design and implementation.
- Enterprise routing and switching (core/distribution/access)
- Routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
- Network security architecture and policy implementation
- VPN technologies (Site-to-Site, Remote Access, SSL VPN)
- Wireless network management and security
- Load balancing and high availability solutions
- Network authentication and access control (AAA)
- Multi-vendor device administration and troubleshooting
- Good at breaking down complex problems and figuring out what’s actually going on, not just applying a quick fix.
- Can explain technical issues clearly to non-technical people and works well with different teams across the business.
- Comfortable working independently but equally effective when collaborating across departments.
- Pays attention to the details that matter, especially in security and network configs where small mistakes have big consequences.
- Can juggle multiple tasks without losing focus on what’s most urgent or impactful.
