We are seeking an experienced Business/Data Analyst to support a major NSW Government housing division on a contract engagement. This role focuses on building efficient, accurate and automated reporting solutions using Power Query, Power BI and advanced Excel.
What you will do
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear functional requirements.
- Design, develop and maintain Power Query driven reports, data models and dashboards.
- Build robust data transformations to support accurate and reliable reporting.
- Perform data analysis, cleansing and validation to ensure strong data quality.
- Optimise reporting workflows and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Use advanced Excel extensively for data manipulation, insights and operational reporting.
What we are looking for
- Strong hands on experience with Power Query, Power BI and advanced Excel.
- Background in data analysis, reporting or business analytics.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and convert them into structured reporting outputs.
- Detail focused, analytical and comfortable working with large datasets.
- Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with operational and project teams.
- Experience with financial data and housing projects will be highly regarded.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful housing and community programs within a major NSW Government division.
Contract till July 2026 with possible extension, up to $75 + super/hour, Sydney/Hybrid
