Junior Software Developer

Reporting to: Manager, Software Development

Job role and purpose:

As a Junior Software Developer at 3stepIT, you will be responsible for the technical design, development, and support of our web services. You will work primarily as part of an agile Scrum team, with responsibilities varying depending on the current project.

The role focuses on foundational development tasks, providing an opportunity to build experience and gain a strong understanding of 3stepIT’s software architecture and business requirements. This role primarily focuses on frontend development, while also providing opportunities to gain experience in both frontend and backend technologies.

You will join a collaborative, high-performing team with a strong team spirit and a culture of continuous improvement.

We offer interesting and varied projects using modern, up-to-date technologies. You will work on our own software solutions that help address the global e-waste challenge and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Main responsibilities & tasks:

• Backlog refinement with scrum team
• Building the understand how requirements are turned into technical/detailed items
• Development work for limited areas backend/frontend of 3stepIT’s solutions
• Broaden one’s knowledge on back end/front end technologies
• Detect / fix bug issues
• Sprint ceremonies (demo to BUs, planning sessions, reviews and retros)

Qualifications and experience:

• Tertiary education (University / Polytechnic), student in Information technology / software engineering or similar
• Programming and related technical skills
• Understanding some of back end/frontend technologies (e.g. vue.js, javascript, Spring Boot, Java or similar)
• Interest towards frontend development
• Communications skills (with users, other technical teams and management)
