The Role – Python Backend Developer

You’ll join a backend team responsible for powering core commerce systems including:

• Product catalog & pricing services
• Checkout & payment flows
• Order management systems
• Integrations with logistics & third-party providers
• Customer data & subscription services
• You’ll work on systems that directly affect revenue and customer experience.

Tech Environment

• Python (FastAPI / Django)
• PostgreSQL
• Docker & Kubernetes
• AWS
• REST APIs
• CI/CD pipelines
• Strong engineering standards around testing, monitoring, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services
• Improve performance in high-traffic environments
• Contribute to architecture decisions as the platform scales
• Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams
• Ensure reliability across checkout and order systems

What They’re Looking For

• 4+ years backend development experience
• Strong Python in production environments
• Experience building APIs and working with relational databases
• Understanding of scalable systems and performance optimisation
• Comfortable in collaborative, agile teams
