The Role – Python Backend Developer
You’ll join a backend team responsible for powering core commerce systems including:
- Product catalog & pricing services
- Checkout & payment flows
- Order management systems
- Integrations with logistics & third-party providers
- Customer data & subscription services
- You’ll work on systems that directly affect revenue and customer experience.
Tech Environment
- Python (FastAPI / Django)
- PostgreSQL
- Docker & Kubernetes
- AWS
- REST APIs
- CI/CD pipelines
- Strong engineering standards around testing, monitoring, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend services
- Improve performance in high-traffic environments
- Contribute to architecture decisions as the platform scales
- Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams
- Ensure reliability across checkout and order systems
What They’re Looking For
- 4+ years backend development experience
- Strong Python in production environments
- Experience building APIs and working with relational databases
- Understanding of scalable systems and performance optimisation
- Comfortable in collaborative, agile teams
Bonus:
- Experience in e-commerce or payments
- Kubernetes exposure
- Event-driven or microservices architecture experience
