Job Overview
Fully responsible for managing the IT operation team of Finnish data centers, overseeing the full-lifecycle hardware maintenance of servers and network equipment, as well as the construction and ongoing maintenance of the data center’s in-house network and supporting systems. Ensure 7x24 stable and secure operation, adhere to Finnish and EU data regulations, coordinate closely with electrical and mechanical teams, and drive the optimization of hardware, network and systems, alongside team building and compliant operations aligned with local sustainability goals.
Core Responsibilities
- Team & Talent Management: Manage the IT team’s recruitment, performance and daily operations in compliance with Finnish labor laws. Develop a targeted training system covering EU data regulations, Arctic data cable infrastructure, server/network hardware maintenance, and in-house network & system construction, to enhance the team’s professional competence and emergency response capabilities.
- Hardware, Network & System O&M Coordination: Formulate and supervise comprehensive operation plans for servers, network equipment, in-house networks and supporting systems. Lead the construction of new network/system nodes, promptly address complex faults (including server failures, network malfunctions and system anomalies), and establish robust rapid response mechanisms to minimize business impact for both local and international clients.
- Data Security & Compliance Control: Implement data security systems per GDPR, Finnish data protection laws and EN 50600 series. Conduct security audits, vulnerability scans and emergency drills (cyber attack, data leakage), ensuring IT operations comply with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Hardware, Network & System Optimization: Analyze operational data across hardware, network and systems to optimize performance and rationalize resource allocation. Introduce advanced maintenance tools and intelligent O&M technologies, and promote projects such as hardware upgrades, network expansion and system reliability enhancement, all aligned with Finland’s green IT and sustainability strategies.
- Cost & Supplier Management: Compile annual IT O&M budgets covering hardware, network and systems, and exercise strict control over procurement, maintenance and replacement costs. Establish a supplier management system tailored to the Finnish market, supervise the service quality of hardware, network equipment and system service vendors, and coordinate with local telecom operators to ensure stable network connectivity.
- Cross-departmental Collaboration: Collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical teams to achieve seamless integration of IT hardware, network, systems and infrastructure. Report operational status and KPIs to management, and participate in data center expansion or renovation projects, leading the construction and deployment of supporting networks and systems to ensure compliant and on-schedule delivery.
