Job Summary:The Android Developer will join the Mobile Development & Application Team responsible for building and maintaining mobile banking solutions. This role focuses on designing and delivering high-quality native Android applications that support customer-facing financial services across mobile banking, payments, and investment platforms.The developer will work in an agile, cross-functional environment and collaborate with architects, business analysts, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and user-focused mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a technical lead and primary contact for technical experts, project teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Design and deliver end-to-end Android solutions for mobile banking platforms.
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with architects and technical leaders to create System Design Specifications (SDS).
  • Provide development estimates for new projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to development standards.
  • Guide and mentor development team members within the Android development practice.
  • Ensure projects follow the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
  • Provide technical support for escalated incidents and outages.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to team collaboration.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
Required Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in mobile application development.
  • 5+ years of experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale mobile solutions.
  • Experience working within agile development environments.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical designs.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
  • Experience mentoring or leading technical team members.
  • Experience working with distributed development teams including onshore and offshore teams.
  • Experience within the financial services industry.
Required Skills:
  • Kotlin development for Android platforms
  • Android development tools such as Android Studio, Gradle, and Emulator
  • Jetpack Compose libraries
Preferred Skills:
  • Software design patterns including MVC, MVP, and MVVM
  • Automated testing using JUnit, Robolectric, and Espresso
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Additional Skills:
  • Interpretation of System Requirements Specifications (SRS)
  • Technical design documentation and solution architecture collaboration
  • Application deployment planning and support
  • Risk and incident resolution for mobile applications
  • Technical documentation and communication with technical and business stakeholders
  • Knowledge of analytics and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, SonarQube, and Crashlytics
