Position Overview

Reporting to the Cybersecurity Manager, the Tier 2 Cybersecurity Analyst will support Calian’s information security operations across both organizational and technical domains. This role is responsible for helping maintain and enhance Calian’s corporate cybersecurity program while actively participating in the full scope of cyber operations activities, including:

  • Security incident response
  • Cyber investigations
  • Threat hunting
  • Identifying anomalies and potential threats
  • Preventative security measures

The Tier 2 Cybersecurity Analyst will also provide operational support for Calian’s complex global environment, which includes on‑premises infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and multi‑cloud deployments. This position requires close collaboration with Cyber team members and partners across Information Systems and Development teams to ensure strong protection and support for users across all Calian business units.

Responsibilities

The Tier 2 Cybersecurity Analyst supports Calian’s enterprise cyber program by performing advanced security operations activities, including:

  • Investigate escalated incidents from Tier 1 analysts/SOC, conduct root-cause analysis, and determine appropriate containment and remediation steps.
  • Analyze threat intelligence to assess relevance and risk, and act upon indicators across logs, network traffic, and other data sources.
  • Automate routine security tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy—such as vulnerability scanning, threat detection workflows, and incident response actions.
  • Leverage AI/ML technologies to enhance threat detection and predictive capabilities, including training models on historical data and developing automated response mechanisms for common threats.
  • Deploy and manage security controls, including firewalls, endpoint protections, and encryption technologies to secure Calian’s systems and information infrastructure.
  • Produce detailed incident reports, document actions taken, and provide recommendations for remediation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in cybersecurity, infrastructure automation, AI/ML, and related technologies; participate in training and professional development.
  • Support annual policy and procedure reviews to ensure alignment with best practices and evolving security requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall cyber operations program.

Qualifications

  • A post secondary degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related program.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in Cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated cyber security domain expertise as evidenced with industry certifications, like CISSP, vendor certifications, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Strong hands-on information security skills and experience
  • Experience responding to information security incidents.
  • Proven capability to consult on large enterprise information security matters.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between teams and business units.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing innovative solutions to complex security and infrastructure environments.
  • In depth understanding of operating systems, network/system architecture, protocols, enterprise services, and enterprise architecture design.
  • Experience in Machine Learning and/or Application Programming Interface development.
  • Experience with Endpoint and Extended Detection and Response systems (CrowdStrike)
  • Experience with Azure/AWS/GCP security architecture
  • Experience with vulnerability management systems
  • Ability to conduct security testing and vulnerability scanning and interpret results.
  • Experience with testing tools such as Burpsuite or Metasploit
  • Understanding of security controls/mechanisms and threat/risk assessment techniques relating to complex data, application, and network environments.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK Framework and OWASP
  • Proficiency in SIEM and EDR monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of security standards such as ISO 27001, SOC, or NIST
  • Solid understanding of ITIL and SLA’s
  • Proficiency in developing and the understanding of the importance of documentation.

Compensation

$80,000 - $100,000
