Our client looks after State Government department in charge of critical infrastructure.s We are seeking an experienced DevOps / Cloud Engineer to join a high performing technology team delivering modern cloud platforms and automation capabilities. This role will focus on building scalable CI/CD pipelines, implementing infrastructure as code, and improving cloud reliability and security across multiple environments.
You will play a key role in shaping DevOps practices, driving automation, and enabling development teams to deliver software more efficiently. This will be a contract until Dec and strong extension possibilities, 50/50 hybrid based in Brisbane Northside.

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
You will play a key role in shaping DevOps practices, driving automation, and enabling development teams to deliver software more efficiently. This will be a contract until Dec and strong extension possibilities, 50/50 hybrid based in Brisbane Northside.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Manage and automate cloud infrastructure across AWS and other environments
- Support containerised and serverless deployments
- Develop monitoring and observability solutions to improve system performance and reliability
- Champion DevSecOps and GitOps principles within the engineering team
- Contribute to internal DevOps standards and best practices
- Strong experience with AWS services including VPC, IAM, ECS and serverless technologies
- Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation
- Strong Terraform experience including provisioning, state management and modular design
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash or similar
- Solid understanding of cloud networking including DNS, CIDR, subnets, firewalls and load balancing
- Experience managing Git workflows including branching strategies and pull request processes
- Strong understanding of security best practices including secrets management
- AWS or Terraform certifications
- Experience with Kafka or Confluent
- Exposure to Azure or Active Directory
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or graph databases
- Experience with Python data tooling such as DBT
