Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to reinforce their Data Management team. You will play a key role in the design, implementation, and optimisation of data pipelines within a modern Azure-based data platform. The team manages the organisation’s data lake, data warehouse, governance framework, and supporting tools.

This role involves hands‑on engineering, solution design, testing, and coaching junior data engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using
• Azure Data Factory, Mapping Data Flows, and Databricks (PySpark).
• Implement scalable and performant data solutions aligned with best practices.
• Execute and document testing activities for data pipelines.
• Define and enhance development standards for data integration processes.
• Provide code reviews and coaching to junior engineers.
• Contribute to data quality, metadata management, and lineage processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement of data management practices.

Required Experience

• 4+ years working with analytics or data-driven use cases.
• Experience with multi-technology integration projects.
• Preferable: experience in the financial or insurance sector.
• Azure Cloud Data Platform (3+ years)
• – Data Lake Gen2, Synapse, storage, compute.
• DevOps practices (2+ years)
• – IaC, CI/CD pipelines.
• Databricks (2+ years).
• Azure Data Factory (3+ years).
• Python (3+ years).
• Mapping Data Flows (3+ years).
• Data Management knowledge
