The project:

Our client in the banking sector, is seeking an experienced BI Expert to strengthen their team.

Key responsibilities:

BI & Analytics Solutions

• Design, build and deploy Business Intelligence solutions to support business decision-making.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and scalable BI architectures.
• Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards and data visualizations.
• Create and manage analytical data structures such as data warehouses, data marts and OLAP cubes.
• Evaluate and continuously improve existing BI systems and analytics platforms.

Data Engineering & Analysis

• Extract, manipulate and analyze data using SQL and Python.
• Develop and execute complex database queries and analytical models.
• Integrate data from multiple systems and ensure consistency and reliability of data flows.
• Support ETL processes and data pipelines within the BI environment.

BI Platform Management

• Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. MicroStrategy or equivalent BI tools).
• Collaborate with technical teams to integrate BI solutions with existing systems and data platforms.
• Conduct unit testing, troubleshooting and performance optimisation of BI solutions.

Data Modeling & Architecture

• Design and implement robust data models aligned with BI best practices.
• Apply advanced knowledge of dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas.
• Develop and maintain data warehouses, data marts and data products to support analytics use cases.
• Ensure that data structures support scalability, performance and governance standards.

Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration

• Actively share expertise and best practices related to BI development and data modeling with internal teams.
• Support internal resources involved in BI activities through coaching, documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of BI capabilities within the organization.

Documentation & Governance

• Develop and maintain technical documentation related to BI solutions and data models.
• Ensure that BI developments follow data governance and architecture standards.

Is this you?

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with SQL and Python for data extraction, manipulation and analysis
• BI and analytics tools such as Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, Databricks, PowerApps
• Experience with data visualization and reporting platforms
• Knowledge of OLAP, ETL frameworks and database management systems

Data Modeling

• Advanced knowledge of data warehouse design
• Expertise in dimensional modeling (star schemas, snowflake schemas)
• Experience designing data marts and data products

BI Platforms

• Experience with BI technologies such as:
• Microsoft Power BI
• Azure Analysis Services
• MicroStrategy
• Oracle BI (or equivalent)

Additional Technical Knowledge

• SQL Server technologies such as SSRS and SSIS
• Data warehousing and data mining techniques
