If keeping large-scale infrastructure stable, automated and quietly humming along is your idea of good engineering, this role should feel familiar. This organisation is hiring a Principal TechOps Engineer to help run and evolve its multi-region Kubernetes environments in AWS.

About the organisation

This organisation builds enterprise-grade infrastructure for storing, trading and servicing digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Operating as a specialised division within a large financial services firm, the team combines startup-style experimentation with the scale, stability and resources of an established global institution. The focus is on bridging traditional institutional investors with digital asset infrastructure, with reliability and security sitting firmly at the centre of everything they build.

What you'll do

  • Design, operate and improve highly available multi-region Kubernetes environments running on AWS EKS that support mission-critical workloads.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Docker images and Helm charts to streamline application delivery and infrastructure changes.
  • Lead the design and implementation of resilient, scalable microservices infrastructure across AWS using infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting systems using tools such as Datadog, Splunk and CloudWatch to ensure platform reliability.

What you need

  • Strong AWS production experience (5+ years), including managing services and applications in large cross-account environments using IAM and federated access.
  • Hands-on experience running Kubernetes workloads, ideally managing AWS EKS clusters and containerised services using Docker.
  • Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred) alongside CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins.
  • Solid scripting or programming ability (Python preferred) along with UNIX systems knowledge and experience with observability tooling such as Datadog or Splunk.

Experience with Kafka or Confluent, distributed version control systems such as Git, CDN providers like Akamai, and agile delivery practices will also be useful, though not strictly required.

The practical bits

Salary sits between €80,000 and €90,000, alongside a 20% annual bonus and a non-contributory pension ranging from 11% to 20% depending on age.

The role is based in Dublin and follows a hybrid model with one week in the office every four weeks.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
