Join Henkel’s new Riga Tech Hub as we build a powerhouse of internal technical excellence on-site in Riga. We are looking for a senior engineer to act as the technical authority for our smart device ecosystem - the "engine" that allows our products to communicate and process data.
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
You will be responsible for the cloud backend, CI/CD pipelines, and the vital connection between firmware and mobile applications. You will build internal capabilities and guide the technical journey of our "Smart" product line.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Backend Ownership: Lead the development and maintenance of cloud infrastructure (Node.js/Python), APIs, and secure authentication.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Define and maintain deployment pipelines (Docker, GitHub Actions) to ensure reliable releases.
- System Testing: Validate that firmware, backend, and mobile apps work together seamlessly through integration testing.
- Technical Authority: Supervise junior engineers, review work from external consultants, and ensure high technical quality.
- Documentation: Ensure all software developments and deployment procedures are documented with proper versioning.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of seniority experience in systems or software engineering.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, ideally with experience in IoT or Electronics.
- Proficiency in AWS/GCP/Azure, RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL, and IoT patterns like MQTT/HTTPS.
- Soft Skills: End-to-end ownership, ability to challenge decisions, and strong collaborative leadership.
