HR Coordinator – Independent School
Location: Upper North Shore and/or Hills Area, Sydney
Salary: $80k + super
5 days a week on Site
Join a respected independent school in Sydney’s Upper North Shore, known for its strong community, academic excellence, and supportive culture. We are seeking a capable and organised HR Coordinator to support the school’s people and culture function across a broad range of operational HR activities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of HR initiatives aligned to the school’s strategic goals.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment coordination, including:
- Advertising roles and managing candidate applications.
- Screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.
- Liaising with hiring managers and external agencies where required.
- Coordinating onboarding to ensure a seamless commencement experience.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
- Assist with performance review processes, employee engagement activities, and professional development coordination.
- Provide first-level advice on HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Support workforce planning and assist in identifying future staffing needs across academic and operational teams.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and service-oriented HR function within a school environment.
About You:
- Previous experience in an HR Coordinator or HR administrative role, ideally within education or another structured environment.
- Strong recruitment coordination experience across teaching and professional staff roles is highly regarded.
- Sound understanding of employment legislation, compliance, and best practice HR processes.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional, approachable, and confident building relationships across all levels of a school community.
