The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer who wants to help build next generation apps and contribute to strengthening and shaping our Android discipline. With the client, you will work broadly, with project deliveries, maintenance, and experimentation in close collaboration with designers, product people, backend developers, and clients.

As a senior developer, you will take natural ownership of the Android domain, staying updated on new platform releases, following industry trends, exploring emerging tools, and bringing that knowledge back to the team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and improve native Android applications using modern technologies such as Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Act as a mentor, role model, and motivator for other Android developers, supporting their technical and professional growth.
• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to translate ideas into high quality implementations.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to best practices, clean architecture, and modern Android development approaches.
• Serve as a go-to Android expert internally, helping shape standards, tools, and development practices.
• Work on a mix of new development, maintenance, and iterative improvements depending on project needs.
• Stay current with new Android releases, tools, and industry trends, and actively share knowledge with the team.
• Contribute to a strong, positive engineering culture built on curiosity, craftsmanship, and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

Must-Have skills:

• 3+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and Android SDK
• Strong understanding of Android app lifecycle and modern architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture)
• Experience with key Jetpack components (ViewModel, Navigation, Room, DataStore, WorkManager)
• Knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, and Dependency Injection (Hilt/Koin)
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling JSON data
• Familiarity with unit testing and maintaining clean, scalable code
• Experience implementing universal design / accessibility
• Strong communication skills in Norwegian and English.

Good-to-Have:

• Experience with Firebase (Auth, Firestore/Realtime DB, Cloud Messaging)
• UI testing experience (Espresso / Compose) and CI/CD familiarity
• Understanding of app performance optimization and accessibility best practices
• Exposure to cross-platform frameworks(Flutter, React Native, Kotlin Multiplatform)
• Basic knowledge of iOS or backend development
• Participation in architectural discussions and scalable app design

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
