We are supporting a specialist information technology organisation on several business-critical cloud and platform initiatives as part of their digital transformation. For a long-term programme, we are looking for an experienced Cloud & DevOps Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and modern CI/CD practices supporting critical applications.

- Role: Freelance Cloud & DevOps Engineer
- Contract: 12–months (extensions possible)
- Location: Belgium (Hybrid)

- Rate: € (Competitive & negotiable)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, and deployments
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and security across cloud platforms
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot infrastructure or deployment issues
- Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps best practices into delivery workflows
- Support containerised environments using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational standards
- Promote DevOps culture and knowledge sharing across engineering teams
Required Skills
- Strong experience as a Cloud Engineer or DevOps Engineer
- Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and automation
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker
- Experience supporting Kubernetes environments
- Familiarity with microservices-based architectures
- Strong troubleshooting and monitoring experience in cloud environments
- Comfortable working with development teams in Agile environments
Other Desired Skills
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
- Knowledge of cloud security, governance, and cost optimisation practices
- Experience supporting high-availability production systems
- Strong documentation and operational process management skills
- Interest in platform engineering and DevOps culture
