Our client is a Canadian consumer product company that develops sustainable smart home solutions, including smart thermostats, home security systems, monitoring devices, and IoT products. SoftServe has been collaborating with this client across several directions such as MLOps, Data Engineering, Software Development, IoT, Android and iOS development and Test Automation, ISO compliance, and project management.

Together, we are building scalable, high-quality solutions that power the next generation of connected homes.

IF YOU ARE

  • Senior Android Engineer with 7+ years of experience developing mobile applications, including strong experience with Kotlin
  • Experienced in building modern Android interfaces using Jetpack Compose
  • Comfortable working with MVVM architecture and designing scalable, maintainable solutions in large codebases
  • Proficient in asynchronous programming using Coroutines and Flow
  • Experienced in working with dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger
  • Confident in writing automated tests using JUnit, Espresso, Kotest, Screenshot tests, or ComposePreview testing
  • Familiar with Android build and CI/CD pipelines using Gradle and GitHub Actions
  • Skilled in contributing high-quality code while actively participating in code reviews and architectural discussions
  • Comfortable working in a customer-owned environment, aligned with EST time zone, and communicating effectively in English
  • Self-sufficient, responsible, and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Experienced with IoT devices, video streaming, or connected ecosystems (would be a plus)

  • Build and evolve a modern Android application that serves as the gateway to a smart home ecosystem, enabling control and insights for thermostats, cameras, sensors, and security features
  • Contribute to both new feature development and continuous improvement of existing functionality across mobile applications
  • Work in a large-scale production environment where your contributions directly impact millions of users
  • Participate actively in Agile team activities, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and domain experts to craft high-quality, customer-focused features
  • Provide thoughtful code reviews and contribute to maintaining strong engineering standards
  • Ramp up quickly and contribute across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Take ownership of initiatives and see your work directly impact real users in their daily lives
