Company Description
Since 2017, Sketch Brahma Technologies has been at the forefront of design and development, offering innovative solutions that merge creativity with advanced technology. The company specializes in providing scalable web and mobile application development, UI/UX design, front-end and back-end development, quality assurance, and digital marketing services. With a diverse team and a shared commitment, Sketch Brahma Technologies strives to craft robust design frameworks for a seamless digital experience. Based on a strong foundation of expertise, the company is dedicated to building the future through impactful digital products.
Role Overview
We are seeking a UX Designer based in India to augment a globally distributed engineering team
responsible for a rapidly growing, production-grade, real-time processing platform. This role will partner closely with a US-based Senior UX Designer, engineering leads, and frontend engineers to design and deliver high-quality user experiences for internal-facing tools used by engineers, SREs, product stakeholders, and their leaders. This is a hands-on role with increasing ownership over time. The UX Designer will own specific features end-to-end under guidance, operating in an environment with real production constraints, evolving requirements, and a strong emphasis on quality, clarity, and operational safety.
Platform Context
The platform consists of:
● A real-time processing engine
● A UI and management layer used to configure, operate, and monitor the platform
The UI supports configuration workflows, operational dashboards, analytics, reporting, and monitoring. While much of the UI follows CRUD and dashboard patterns, there are complex usage flows, edge cases, and failure modes that require careful UX design.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Delivery
● Own UX design for assigned features end-to-end, from loosely defined problem statements
through implementation and validation
● Produce high-fidelity designs in Figma, including:
● Primary workflows and interaction models
● Error, empty, loading, and edge states
● Responsive behavior where applicable
● Create clear design specifications, annotations, and documented requirements to enable
efficient engineering implementation
● Collaborate with the US-based Senior UX Designer for guidance, review, and alignment
Collaboration & Execution
● Work directly with frontend engineers (React) to ensure designs are feasible, efficient, and
well-integrated with implementation constraints
● Partner with engineering leads and product stakeholders to clarify requirements, propose
solutions, and iterate as understanding evolves
● Participate in design reviews, planning discussions, and cross-functional meetings
● Present and explain design decisions to engineering and product audiences
● Proactively identify UX risks, ambiguities, and gaps in requirements
Quality & Validation
● Perform UX QA on implemented features to ensure fidelity to designs and usability
expectations
● Validate that designs account for operational realities, failure modes, and production usage
patterns
● Reduce back-and-forth during implementation by anticipating questions and constraints
upfront
Documentation & Communication
● Produce clear, concise written documentation to support async collaboration across time
zones
● Communicate design intent, trade-offs, and decisions effectively via design artifacts, Jira, and
team communication tools
Definition of Done
A UX initiative is considered complete when:
● High-fidelity Figma designs are finalized and approved
● All relevant states (happy path, error, empty, loading, edge cases) are designed
● Responsive behavior is clearly defined where applicable
● Design handoff documentation is complete and unambiguous
● Implemented functionality has been reviewed and validated from a UX perspective
Required Qualifications
● Strong experience in interaction and visual design, with a greater emphasis on visual design
quality
● Advanced proficiency with Figma for high-fidelity design and collaboration
● Experience designing internal tools, admin interfaces, or operational dashboards
● Demonstrated ability to work effectively with vague or evolving requirements
● Experience collaborating closely with engineers and understanding implementation
constraints
● Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
● Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React) is sufficient to design practical,
implementable solutions
● Experience designing for production systems, including consideration of failure modes and
operational safety
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience working on developer tools or data-intensive systems
● Experience using design systems, components, and an understanding of atomic design
● Exposure to analytics, reporting, or monitoring interfaces
● Prior experience working with globally distributed or US-based teams
● Basic coding or prototyping experience (nice to have, not required)
Seniority & Operating Style
● Targeted at a strong mid-level UX designer
● Comfortable owning loosely defined initiatives with minimal hand-holding
● Able to make pragmatic design decisions within established architectural and product
boundaries
● Open to feedback and iterative improvement, with increasing ownership over time
collaboration & Working Model
● Work closely with a US-based Senior UX Designer who provides overall UX leadership and guidance
● Regular collaboration with engineering leads and frontend engineers
● Required working-hours overlap with the US team Monday through Thursday until noon MST
(Phoenix / Arizona time); Fridays are flexible
What Success Looks Like
Within the first three months, successful candidates will:
● Deliver designs that require minimal clarification from engineers
● Anticipate edge cases and implementation constraints
● Reduce iteration cycles during development
●Take increasing ownership of larger and more complex UI areas
● This role offers an opportunity to grow ownership and impact while contributing meaningfully to a
production-critical platform.
