Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) – Remote - €175,000

A leading technology and security consulting organisation is seeking an experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to take ownership of its information security strategy and play a central role in advising clients across complex, regulated environments.

This is a senior, highly visible role combining strategic leadership, governance, and hands-on security expertise. You’ll work closely with executive stakeholders, delivery teams, and clients, helping shape security programmes that are pragmatic, scalable, and aligned with modern business needs.

Your Responsibilities

• Define and lead the overall information security strategy across internal and client environments
• Act as a trusted security advisor to senior leadership and client stakeholders
• Design, implement, and mature security governance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIS2, SOC2)
• Oversee risk management, threat modelling, and incident response planning
• Build, mentor, and scale security teams across multiple engagements

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a CISO, Head of Information Security, or senior security leader
• Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern security architectures
• Deep knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance within Germany and the EU
• Fluent in English; German language skills are a strong advantage
