Experienced Project Manager required for a 6 month assignment with a busy LGA. Minor capital works projects.

Your new company

Hays are partnering with a Local Government who are looking for an experienced Project Manager to assist the Council on a temporary basis for approximately 6 months.

Your new role

The successful candidate will manage and oversee a range of minor level capital works projects including lighting projects, park upgrades, and irrigation upgrades. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage multiple projects at various stages, with budgets ranging from $100K to $500K
• Plan projects by preparing project briefs, conducting risk assessments, and creating budgets
• Initiate projects through liaison and consultation with community stakeholders and consultants, preparing tender documentation, evaluating tenders, and estimating costs
• Implement projects by liaising with contractors and consultants, administering contracts, and ensuring workplace safety and health (WSH) compliance
• Close out projects by collating and registering assets
• Ensure all projects are managed according to the Town's Project Management Frameworks
  
  What you'll need to succeed
• Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field with at least 3 years of experience in civil engineering design and construction
• Proven experience in managing projects from initiation to completion, including budget management and risk assessments
• Strong knowledge of design, construction, and maintenance principles for Local Government infrastructure, facilities, and services
• Understanding of relevant statutory requirements, Acts, Local Laws, and both internal and external policies
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including advanced problem-solving, negotiation, and dispute resolution abilities. Ability to liaise effectively with community stakeholders, contractors, and consultants
• Valid 'C' class driver's license
