As we continue to expand our cybersecurity capability across the APAC region, we are seeking an experienced Mobile Security Engineer to join our security research and threat analysis practice. This role is suited to a highly technical specialist who enjoys deep analysis of mobile threats, reverse engineering malicious code, and protecting enterprise environments from emerging mobile attack vectors.

This is a unique opportunity to work on advanced mobile threat analysis programs, collaborating with security researchers, threat intelligence teams, and enterprise security architects to identify and mitigate sophisticated malware targeting Android ecosystems.


Role Overview

As a Senior Mobile Security Engineer, you will analyse suspicious Android applications, reverse engineer malicious code, and identify behavioural indicators of compromise across mobile platforms. You will leverage industry-leading reverse engineering tools and sandbox environments to classify malware, understand attacker techniques, and contribute to mobile threat intelligence capabilities.

Your work will directly support enterprise security programs by identifying malicious applications, strengthening mobile defence frameworks, and contributing to proactive threat detection.


Key Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer Android applications (APK / DEX) to identify malicious code and behaviours

• Conduct deep malware analysis including static and dynamic binary analysis

• Analyse Android application behaviour using automated tools and sandbox environments

• Classify malicious applications based on known threat indicators and security frameworks

• Identify and document attack techniques, malware patterns, and exploit methodologies

• Work with threat intelligence teams to support mobile threat detection and incident response

• Develop scripts and automation tools (Python preferred) to assist malware analysis workflows

• Contribute to security research and provide technical guidance on mobile application security risks

• Collaborate with enterprise security teams to strengthen mobile application defence strategies


Required Experience

• Strong experience in Android malware analysis and reverse engineering

• Expertise with reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, and related analysis frameworks

• Hands-on experience analysing Android APK, DEX, and SDK components

• Deep understanding of ARM architecture and mobile application execution models

• Strong knowledge of security engineering, network security, authentication protocols, and applied cryptography

• Experience developing or analysing Android applications using Java and C/C++

• Experience with automation and scripting (Python preferred)

• Familiarity with sandbox environments and behavioural malware analysis tools
