Data Analyst Trainee, Paytrail, Jyväskylä, Finland (Permanent Position)

Every day, we process vast amounts of payment data that powers seamless payment experiences for thousands of merchants and millions of consumers. Now we’re looking for a Data Analyst Trainee who wants to turn data into insights — and insights into meaningful business impact.

What Does the Trainee Role Mean at Paytrail?
Paytrail is part of Nexi Group, one of Europe’s leading payment providers. As a Data Analyst Trainee, you’ll join Nexi’s international Trainee Program while being firmly rooted in our Jyväskylä team. From day one, you’ll have a permanent contract and a real role in the organization.
During the one-year trainee journey, you will:
- Rotate across different parts of the organization to gain a holistic understanding of Paytrail’s business
- Learn how payment data is generated, processed, and transformed into decision-making
- Work on real projects with real colleagues — contributing to actual business outcomes
Your Role After the Trainee Period
As a Data Analyst, you will operate at the intersection of data, business, and technology. You’ll collaborate closely with Finance, Sales, Risk Management, Product Development, and Engineering to ensure data supports strategic and operational decision-making.
Depending on your strengths and interests, your work may include:
- Ownership of data reliability and usability
- Building reporting solutions and dashboards
- Producing analyses that guide business decisions
- Identifying trends, anomalies and development opportunities in payment data
- Developing KPIs and metrics together with stakeholders
- Contributing to the development of data models and structures
Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a business-minded analyst who can move beyond pure data analysis, generate new commercial insights, and and communicate them effectively. You don’t need years of experience — we value mindset and potential.
You might be a great fit if You:
- have recently graduated (within the past 12 months) or will graduate within the next 6 months with a Master’s degree
- are available to work full-time and have the legal right to work in Finland
- have no more than one year of professional experience
- are fluent in Finnish and English
- have general or intermediate-level understanding of programming
- are interested in AI, analytics, software development, data modelling and business value creating
- enjoy solving problems and understanding how data creates value
- thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to take ownership
- have international mindset through studies, work, or global collaboration
