Embedded Software Engineer – 2 days on site – London - £60,000
The software you write in this role, will be the backbone of the product.
You’ll be writing firmware to ensure the smooth and secure flight of UAVs. These have a commercial and military application; MOD contracts as well as being used in mapping deforestation, Air-sea rescue etc.
Whilst the bulk of your day-to-day will be Embedded C for 16 & 32 bit microcontrollers, it’s not all baremetal. You’ll certainly need to get boards up and running writing straight onto hardware, but you’ll gain experience writing in Linux & RTOS environments. A lot of Embedded roles can keep you in one focus for most of your career, but this isn’t one.
They are always looking for new ways to innovate and UAV platforms are new, ever-evolving and complex products which will be a enjoyable challenge to tackle. For example, Rust is a language their Embedded Engineers get exposure to at an embedded & Application level.
We are seeking people at multiple levels.
To be successful you’ll need some exposure to:
- Embedded Software (C, C++ or Rust)
- Barematel, RTOS OR Linux experience
- Communication Protocols
- Eligible for full security Clearance
