About The Team

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About The Role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of technology projects that support Coles Corporate and Coles Liqour functions. You will oversee the full project lifecycle — from planning and initiation through execution, implementation, and transition to operations — ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, to scope, and in alignment with governance and quality standards.

You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage complex risks and dependencies, and ensure strong communication and collaboration across technology, business, vendors, and delivery stakeholders. This role requires a proactive leader who brings disciplined project management capability, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to drive execution excellence across multiple streams.

Key responsibilities include

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations
  • Develop business cases by defining scope, benefits, and success metrics for assigned projects
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and following established methodologies and governance frameworks
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and interdependencies across technology and business teams
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and promote effective collaboration and accountability
  • Oversee project budgets, expenditure tracking, financial reporting, procurement, and vendor contracts
  • Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, key performance indicators, and quality standards
  • Manage supplier engagement, capacity planning, and resource alignment across engineering and testing teams
  • Ensure seamless transition of projects into operational support and service management
  • Maintain clear, timely, and transparent communication with stakeholders, governance forums, and steering committees

About You And Your Skills

You will bring a strong blend of delivery capability, technical acumen and leadership skills, including

  • Proven experience delivering medium-to-large IT projects over five years, including hybrid, agile, or waterfall environments
  • Strong capability in managing risks, issues, dependencies, and financial aspects
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Experience managing infrastructure, enterprise platform, or integration-focused technology projects
  • Strong vendor and supplier management skills, including contract and performance oversight
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with senior business and technology audiences
  • Ability to define and measure project success metrics, quality indicators, and delivery performance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, outcome-driven mindset
  • High resilience, adaptability, and effectiveness in complex enterprise environments
  • Continuous-improvement mindset focused on driving delivery excellence and enhancing practices
